This study focused on a flexible work environment and task performance. The study used a survey research design. A survey was carried out on nursing mothers who work in 50 selected firms. A sample size of 200 nursing mothers working in these firms was obtained for this study. Ballpark sampling techniques were used in selecting the nursing mothers. Hypotheses were tested using the regression weight. Reliability of the instrument was achieved using Cronbach's alpha (α ≥ 0.70). The validity was tested using the AVE (values > 0.50). Discriminant validity was tested using the Fornell-Larcker criterion. Findings revealed that flexible work schedules have a positive and significant effect on the quality of work of nursing mothers, and that role fluidity has a positive and significant effect on the quality of work of nursing mothers. The study concluded that flexible work environments will significantly help nursing mothers to perform their work better and balance their work and family responsibilities. The study recommended that management should introduce flexible work schedules for nursing mothers to allow them to fulfill their family duties, and that managers should not give nursing mothers too many tasks and responsibilities, as it could hinder the quality of their work.
